Cross the invisible line where the Indian Himalayas merge into the Land of the Thunder Dragon. This 12-day dual-nation expedition fuses the vibrant energy of Sikkim with the serene mysticism of Bhutan. Begin amidst the Kanchenjunga views of Gangtok and the glass skywalks of Pelling, before stepping through the gateway of Phuentsholing into a carbon-negative kingdom.
In Bhutan, the journey slows down. Witness the fortress-monasteries of Thimphu, the sub-tropical valleys of Punakha, and the legendary Tiger’s Nest in Paro. It is a tale of two distinct cultures bound by the same mountains—one energetic and colorful, the other ancient and still.
Arrive at Bagdogra/Pakyong. The journey begins with a drive alongside the emerald Teesta River, winding upwards to Gangtok (5,400 ft). Check into your mountain-view room. Evening is for a leisurely stroll at MG Marg, soaking in the clean mountain air.
Overnight: Gangtok
Ascend to the ethereal Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft), a glacial body of water reflecting the surrounding peaks. Pay homage at the Baba Mandir. The landscape here changes from lush green to rugged alpine.
Overnight: Gangtok
A scenic drive to West Sikkim via Ravangla. We stop at the Buddha Park, where a massive statue sits against a backdrop of snow peaks. Continue to Pelling, a quiet town where the Kanchenjunga dominates the skyline.

Experience the thrill of the Chenrezig Glass Skywalk, hovering above the valley. Walk through the history of the Rabdentse Ruins (the ancient capital) and find peace at the Pemayangtse Monastery.

We descend from the Sikkim hills and drive through the tea gardens of the Dooars to the Bhutan Gate. Walk across the border into Phuentsholing. The transition is instant—from the bustle of India to the ordered calm of Bhutan.

After permit formalities, we begin the ascent to Thimphu. The road cuts through clouds and pristine forests. Visit the Kharbandi Gompa en route. Arrive in the capital, a city that blends ancient tradition with modernity.
Overnight: Thimphu
Stand before the giant Buddha Dordenma, watching over the valley. Visit the National Memorial Chorten and the Takin Preserve (home to Bhutan’s unique national animal). Explore the Folk Heritage Museum to understand the Bhutanese way of life.
Overnight: Thimphu
Drive across the Dochula Pass (10,100 ft), adorned with 108 chortens and prayer flags. On a clear day, the Himalayan panorama is unmatched. Descend into the warm Punakha valley to visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, the "Palace of Great Happiness."
Overnight: Punakha
Follow the river confluence and drive to Paro. Visit the National Museum (Ta Dzong), housed in an ancient watchtower, and the Rinpung Dzong. The Paro valley is famous for its paddy fields and traditional architecture.
Overnight: Paro
The pinnacle of the trip. We hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched precariously on a cliff 900 meters above the valley floor. The energy here is palpable. (Pony services available for the first half).
Overnight: Paro
We bid goodbye to the hills of Bhutan and descend back to the border town of Phuentsholing for our final night.
