Next up: Pashupatinath Temple
One of the holiest shrines for Hindus, Pashupatinath is raw, powerful, and deeply spiritual. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, its golden roof and silver doors gleam under the sun, while pilgrims chant by the Bagmati River.

Finally: Boudhanath Stupa, the heart of Little Tibet

Monkey Temple

Breakfast, then off to meet the mountains’ watchful eyes

Start with Swoyambhunath Stupa, aka the Monkey Temple. Perched on a hilltop, its golden eyes seem to follow you everywhere (in a good way). It’s said the valley was born here, out of a lake drained by the gods themselves.

Then, history hits different at Kathmandu Durbar Square

Walk through palaces, courtyards, and centuries-old temples, this is where kings were crowned and legends were written. Peek into the Kumari Temple, home to Nepal’s Living Goddess, and visit Kasthamandap, the temple built from a single tree (and the one that gave Kathmandu its name).

Evening free for shopping or exploring local cafes, momos, tea, and mountain air guaranteed.
